type.
a while ago i saw these canisters at a thrift store and thought that they had the most amazing type. look at the coffee! it still blows my mind. i ended up just taking pictures and not getting them because they didn't have their tops. but then, i kept thinking about them and went back 2 weeks later and they were still there! $1.50 later and they are sitting on my desk full of pens and stickers and sewing supplies.

Tuesday
$/$$

after spending a week looking at art that cost thousands to millions of dollars, it's really refreshing to see great work that is totally affordable. both of these posters, by eleanor grosch and wayne pate respectively, are hand screenprinted and both are only $40. seems almost criminal!
Monday
this is cassini's division.

i entered this design into spoonflower's fabric of the week contest! the theme was celestial and the artwork had to be created by hand, so i made these little watercolor meteorites flying through the rings of saturn, scanned them in and then played with the color in photoshop. i'm pretty happy with the results! if you want to vote for me {please!} click here and scroll down to find my design. if i win i get a free yard of fabric and i'll show you guys what amazing thing i make with it. vote!
Sunday
cherry and east.

i'm going to be spending my weekends working at this cute new modern home store called cherry and east! they are the only purveyor of jonathan adler, dwell studio, missoni home and marimekko in the savannah area and i'm excited to work surrounded by such beautiful things.

Friday
mew mew.
ok, so, everyone is freaking out about the alexander mcqueen spring 2010 show {and rightly so!}, but the spring collection for miu miu has won my heart {even more than usual.} perfectly-waisted pencil skirts, sharply tailored pants, beautifully finished tall cuffs and elongated collars, all in sublime cat-printed {love-love-love!} neutrals and topped off with long horse-girl braids. it's magnificent.

Thursday
catvan.

i waaannnnt this dress and those pillows! they were designed by vicki murdoch for her final show at the chelsea school of art. it seems as if she makes custom silk scarves now, but her cat-themed caravan was featured in the book digital textile design. hey vicki, hook a fellow cat-loving textile designer up!
Monday
rally.

this weekend i went to a scooter rally in atlanta. it was super fun! the vintage ones have such great logos amd i've kind of got the scooter bug.
non-required reading.

my sister got me this book and it's great. i mean with an introduction by judy blume, edited by dave eggers and a cover designed by barry mcgee, it's pretty hard to go wrong.
Tuesday
infinite karma.

no love lost.

this is a dress that i made! it's digitally printed silk charmeuse with black silk dye. the print is one i designed of dead and floating horses with some nice grey roses/pools of blood. it's also got a self belt with a horseshoe buckle. i love wearing it and i think that i want all of my clothes to be made out of silk. it feels so wonderful. i made another dress as well that i'll post later today!

Thursday
spoonflower.
hey guys! just a reminder that spoonflower is giving away free swatches today as a fundraiser for heifer international, which is a great organization. i've never gotten fabric printed through spoonflower before so i'm really excited to test them out! i think that i'm going to get swatches of these two designs of mine on their new organic cotton interlock knit and bamboo-cotton poplin.

Sunday
MOON.

i am so excited to see this!!! it's not really the kind of movie i'd normally want to go see {sci-fi thriller?}, but the poster is beautiful, the trailer is done really well, sam rockwell is awesome and it was directed by duncan jones aka zowie bowie!
