Saturday

warm winter.

tanyna aguiƱiga is mainly a furniture designer/maker but has also branched out into textiles. she created this scarf that's woven with glow-in-the-dark fibers and looks great for keeping safe and warm on a nighttime bike ride.

Friday

4th of 4th.

wow, i was just 'tagged' by rhan and juliet over at the marvelous touch touch! i finally feel like a true blogger! it's a "fourth of fourth" blog assignment. the idea is that you go into the fourth folder of your photo files and pick the fourth photo from that folder.

now i wasn't sure whether that meant the fourth folder arranged alphabetically or by date modified or the forth image in my online photo folder!! so i'm just going to post all three...

alphabetically the forth folder is "alex's studio" and the forth picture is of the crazy dog knick-knack on his stove.

the forth folder arranged by date is "river swimming 2008". right before i left the great northeast i took a trip with friends to go rock jumping / swimming in the susquehanna river. this picture is of megan working up the nerve to jump!

the forth image in my online folder {before i just added those two} was this photograph from shorpy which is so amazing and i really just wanted a reason to post it!

i guess that it is my blogger duty to 'tag' people as well so i'm sending this on over to:

jana and aileen at rara avis are we because they are both geniuses.

paul pincus
because he has amazing taste.

and fall of james because i love seeing pictures of his cute family.

Thursday

done & done.

you can vote however you like.

this is so great it almost made me tear up. i'm going in to vote early today!

:::::::::::::::::::

But McCain and Bush are real close right
They vote alike and keep it tight
Obama's new, he's younger too
The Middle Class he will help you
He'll bring a change, he's got the brains
McCain and Bush are just the same
You are to blame, Iraq's a shame
Four more years would be insane'

Wednesday

Tuesday

cmyk soft drinks.

helmut smits discovered that certain drinks are so intensely dyed that they can correlate to CMYK and create new colors when mixed. cyan=gatorade cool blue. magenta=ferandes cherry bouquet. yellow=orangeade. black=coca cola. they might taste alright too!

books at home.

so there is already a blog dedicated solely to beautiful staircases so it makes perfect sense that there would be one devoted to the art and design of the bookcase! i just have to remind myself that envy is a deadly sin.

Sunday

crystal caves.

the largest crystals in on earth, formed in an underground cave in mexico. the longest crystal measures 37.4 feet and likely began growing some 600,000 years ago! intense.

black as midnight on a moonless night.

the genius / lunatic from in twin peaks has somewhat obsessively visited locations used in the filming of twin peaks, 19 years after the show began. the first image is a still from the show and the second is the current version. the attention to detail, finding the exact spot for the scene, is astounding. {please note that he found the exact branch from the opening credits!}
