for jerome — with love and squalor.

"what really knocks me out is a book that, when you're all done reading it, you wish the author that wrote it was a terrific friend of yours and you could call him up on the phone whenever you felt like it. that doesn't happen much, though."

r.i.p. friend.

Sunday

10 things. nice ones.

i'm really good at complaining. and finding the worst in things and people and life. and i hate it {see!}. i do not like being so darn negative and so i've been actively letting myself enjoy things and people and life without getting so uptight about it. i've been tagged my the wonderful woolgathering to make a list of 10 things that make me happy and i think that this is the perfect time for me to do so.

1. riding my bike, by myself, through savannah, slowly.
2. highlighting beautiful and/or important passages in books, in blue.
3. striped shirts.
4. receiving cute animal-themed cards from my mother.
5. watching a movie and then immediately watching it again, with the commentary.
6. wearing men's cologne.
7. fuckyeahryanmcginely.
8. seeing my friend group grow, but also become more refined.
9. doing the speaking portion of my rosetta stone french lessons.
10. sticking my hands in the cat's armpits while he's sleeping.

textull.

no, that's not a typo. that's how people say 'textile' here in the south! i spent most of the last week touring textull mills, studios and showrooms in north carolina as a guest of the imta. it was really interesting and fun and i learned a lot! here are a few of my favorite shots from the week.
