Saturday

school's out, books are in.

so i made it through my first quarter of grad school and pulled my first ever all-nighter by staying up 23 and a half hours to finish my final project. whew. now i have 8 weeks off, and i plan on doing not much else other than catch up on my reading and eating actual meals. i've got 10 more books to go until i reach my goal of 50 for the year and i think that i can do it! i just started american pastoral and i'm working on finishing up design and art. count down!

  1. nice! i'm down to my last two weeks of my first term of grad school. i see the overnighter ahead.

i'd be interested to see how you like the design and art book. i just read the participation book in that series (which was excellent!) and i just picked up the everyday book.

  2. Congratulations. Sincerely, that's awesome.

And how perfect to spend 8 weeks reading? I would never get out of bed.

  3. i wish that we had two extra weeks! they tried to fit everything into 10 weeks and it was so hectic. now i have 8 weeks of nothing. it's going to be weird.

i really like design and art. i started reading "please eat the daisies" for my paper on 'functionality in postmodern craft' but the whole book is pretty awesome. i didn't know that it was part of a series, i'll have to check the others out too.

  4. we only have 10 weeks as well--we just started a lot later. 8 week vacation is pretty nuts! we get 3, 1 of which will be spent grading finals. ugh.

  6. Congratulations on finishing the quarter! What are you studying? I'm contemplating grad school; it sounds like a lot of work, but I think I'm up to the challenge!

Never read Roth, but I hear wonderful things about American Pastoral.
