Friday

bounty.

i got some awesome work-related news today so here is a picture of a chipmunk shoving a peanut into its mouth.

{more here}

Tuesday

how memory works.

hi guys! i didn't disappear! i just got an awesome job where i'm busy a lot. it's cool, sometimes i put images and things over on my tumblr. it's mostly stuff that i want to remember, like; cool art, hot dudes, weird photographs, stuff i'll never buy and cats in parkas. check it out!

Thursday

things are happening!

Vicious Hotel - Sid Vicious

Friday

the catherine collection.

check out these note cards that i designed for working class!

Sunday

cherry and east.

i'm going to be spending my weekends working at this cute new modern home store called cherry and east! they are the only purveyor of jonathan adler, dwell studio, missoni home and marimekko in the savannah area and i'm excited to work surrounded by such beautiful things.

Tuesday

alright! alright!

this is cracking me up right now. okaaaaay, back to the grindstone/cutting mat/sketchbook.

Monday

can't stop, won't stop.

this is how i feel this morning.

Saturday

stitch spectacular!

i've been really into embroidery for quite some time now, but i haven't quite explored it as much as i'd like. which is why i'm really excited about the stitch spectular show! not only is it taking place right here in savannah, it's being juried by some really amazing people; grace bonney (of design sponge) and kate bingaman-burt (of obsessive consumption ) and the surface design association will award the “best in show.” they just moved the deadline back until october 31st, which is great for me because i JUST started working on my submission. yipes!

Thursday

what a way to make a livin'.

so yesterday i found out that i got a job! it's at a place that rhymes with shamerian shapparel. i'm looking forward to working with some nice people, getting some cheap clothes and not having to fully rely on stupid student loans. it will be my first real foray into the world of retail and i just hope that i don't drown in a sea of thigh-high sport socks!

Wednesday

homework.

as soon as i graduated from college i knew that one day i would be back; i really like being in school. i missed having projects and assignments and parameters and deadlines. i really enjoy that part of the creative processes, i think that it makes my work more interesting. because of people like me art house coop has created a list of projects to inspire even the laziest among us. with 'stuff your sorries in a sack' you get a little burlap bag to fill with things that you need to get off your chest and present to the world, and participating in 'the scavenger project' gets you a list of 24 items to visually represent that will be combined into a published book. it seems a good way to get a jump start on developing your own projects!

Friday

begining of the end.

one more week of work left! it's getting harder and harder to stay inside all day when i could be out soaking up all that's left of what philly has to offer me. ho hum.

my replacement starts here on monday which means i'll be spending most of next week explaining to her all of the thousands of tiny different things that that encompass this job. those 1,000 things even out to about 2 things a day over these past two years, which is why i've had so much time to enjoy all the things the internet has to offer. i hope that once i'm busy with school i'll be able to keep up!

Tuesday

business bunny.

long day at work. i need this lil guy to help me through.

Monday

work life.

only two more weeks left as an 'architectural layout designer' in philadelphia and then it's onwards to being a poor grad student in savannah! it's been 4 years since i was last in school and i'm so excited about starting classes again. but what i'm {secretly} most excited about is starting fresh with a new apartment all to myself. i can't wait to start decorating it!
