take away shows.

the arcade fire play neon bible live in an elevator, complete with magazine ripping percussion. this video was directed by vincent moon, who has created a series of take away shows where bands play their songs acoustically in strange places and situations. the one with the animal collective singing into plastic bottles and banging on railings is also quite amazing.

hot & cold.

savannah can't seem to decide whether or not it's winter or spring. this is my new look inspiration for those in-between days.

Thursday

tout va bien.

nice stems.

i'm so excited about the new floral column at design sponge!

Wednesday

bullseye.

i love how color can change the mood of a print so completely! these two beauties are by rachel comey and are for sale at bird.

Tuesday

history.

i brought my old tv into class today so we could watch the inauguration while we worked. the bad reception made the moment even more magical.

Monday

"play it real pretty."

"that will be the day
not of the white man, not of the black man.

that will be the day of man as man."

Sunday

ring-a-ling-thing.

every since i saw this druzy ring over at bleach black i've been trying to find one for myself. unfortunatly i have tiny baby hands. boo.

light lane!

this is the COOLEST! light lane projects a crisply defined virtual bike lane onto pavement, using a laser, providing the driver with a familiar boundary to avoid. with a wider margin of safety, bikers will regain their confidence to ride at night, making the bike a more viable commuting alternative. it still seems to be in the brainstorming stage, but i'd sure like one. riding around in savannah at night can be pretty unsafe due to the lack of established bike lanes, minmal street lights and the huge overhanging trees and this looks like a fun fix!
