Thursday

banana peels we've slipped on and egg shells we've tippy toed over.

this weekend i'm going to chicago to see the reunion of cap'n jazz, one of my all-time-favorite bands. and i'm. SO. EXCITED!

Wednesday

blood heat.

it's summer. it's hot. i love it. after a long morning of job searching, i'm just about to go on a bike ride and then cool off inside and listen to this while i eat an icecream treat. happiness.

'i love my carl

i could even find it in my heart
to love mike love.'

(lyrics by b&s

guilty pleasure song)

Thursday

running up that hill.

putting the finishing touches on my dresses and re-editing my final paper. as of 4:30 today you'll find me doing awesome textile-based interpretive dances because i will be done with school and be the MASTER OF ALL FIBERS !!!

very necessary.

here is a t-shirt that i 'designed'. ripped from the headlines of my life! i mean really, it's a true classic.

{with a special dedication
to katie henry
who definitely knows
all the words to 'shoop'}

Friday

here comes the summer!

hey guys, i made this mix for my friend jackie, but i've been listening to it tons the past week so i thought i'd share it with everybody! it's got lots of summer-y, feel good-y, dance-y type songs. a little bit of soul, a little bit of punk, a few newer songs and lots and lots of 90's alterna. it's great for working in the studio, driving in the car, boomboxing in the park, and just generally lovin' life [if yr into that sorta thing]. click the cover to download and enjoy! xox.

featuring: the undertones, paul simon, the anniversary, otis redding, smashing pumpkins, tommy james and the shondells, huggy bear, the wedding present, etc!

Thursday

summatiiiime.

i CANNOT stop listening to this song. it gives me real, actual summertime chills.

Wednesday

have one on me.

fyi: this is SO GOOD. i've only listened to it all the way through once {3 lps!}, but so far it has a sort of lush ladies of the canyon vibe that i really love. i don't know if it's surpassed Ys for me, but it's still highly recommended!

Monday

play freebird.

i wish that this was longer so i could have it on all day in the background while i'm working.

Friday

loo loo looooo looloo.

i love charlie brown. he's the charlie browniest.

Saturday

mono no aware!

my amazingly amazing friend steven is hosting the third installment of his mono no aware film fest this sunday, november 29th {tomorrow!} at the lumenhouse in brooklyn, ny. mono no aware is an international film event that includes super8mm or 16mm film format as part of that presentation. in previous years 16 film was blended with dance performance, super8 with live spoken word/audience involvement, & multi-projections with live jazz/musical devices. it is super cool and neat and fun and FREE and you should check it out.

still ill.

feel better moz. this might confirm my morrissey costume idea. flowers and all.

Friday

in the room where you sleep.

the past couple of days i've been listening to the dead man's bones album over and over again. you pretty much can't go wrong when you pair together two handsome actors {ryan gosling and zach shields}, semi-spooky love songs and a children's choir dressed in homemade costumes. it's perfect fun fall music.

the chorus.

the amazing chorus of ps22 doing lady gaga's let's dance. i'm a total sucker for stuff like this. for a long time i was obsessed with the langley school's music project {i still might be.}
