Thursday

dead cells.

i wish that i had something more interesting and dynamic to say, but i'm pretty sure that grad school is actually melting my brain and making me stupider. anyway, i want this haircut. not that i'm growing my hair out again, but i'm also not cutting it either...

denial.

when i look in the mirror, this is what i see looking back.

Tuesday

let's get giddy.

hey friends, stay tuned this week because i'm having another give-away! it'll make you happier than a fancy new hairdo!

Thursday

ugh. republicans.

i can't even say anything about the speeches given by giuliani and palin tonight at the rnc without wanting to punch straight through my computer screen. HOWEVER, these 10 seconds made watching the whole thing at least the tiniest bit worthwhile. piper 4 prez.

Friday

omg.

charlotte gainsbourg is so gorgeous. this is how hot i aspire to look everyday of my life!

Wednesday

long gone.

so here is the before and after of the great hair-cutting of 2008. it's quite a bit shorter than i wanted but it feels so good to have all of that length gone for good!

{please disregard how weird my face looks, i swear i'm not made of wax}

Thursday

hair today...

tonight i'm finally gonna do it. i'm getting my hair cut. i'm a short haired girl at heart and ever since i was 16 and paid my sister $3 to drive me to the mall to get my long wavy {aka frizzy} locks all chopped off, having short hair just felt right for me. the past two years i've been growing my hair out as an experiment, just to see if, after almost 10 years of being a short haired gal, long hair would be a good thing for me. and i can tell you, it probably isn't. sometimes i do think that it looks alright, but it still feels funny to me. so in a few hours my 10" pony tail will be sitting in a zip lock bag waiting to be mailed in to locks of love, and i'll be riding my bike home feeling a lot lighter. i'm glad that i gave it a try, and someday i might go for it again, but as for now give me a jean seberg or give me death!

Monday

green scene.

pamoyo is a dutch/swedish fashion label run out of berlin. each article is hand-sewn out of vintage fabrics and organic cotton. two euros from each purchase are donated to ecological and social projects. that's two euros from reasonably affordable prices ranging from 25 to 49 euros for shirts and dresses in 8 styles. they are part of the grass roots project and the first fashion label under creative commons license. hmm, a cute, afforable, sustainable, collaborative and customizable clothing line that donates money to charities???? amazing! also, i'm in love with their models blonde 'do!

Friday

hairdo.

i wish that amy winehouse wasn't such a nutbar, because i'd sincerely like to see the beehive come back. maybe before i chop all of my hair off {tentative date 06/21} i'll give it a shot. in the privacy of my own bedroom, of course.

the ronettes did it best!

Monday

heidi? maybe.

i'm still painstakingly trying to grow my hair out to do locks of love. i've got maybe 1.5 inches left to go and it's really starting to drive me nuts. up until now, i've had short hair for about 9 years and all of this brushing and conditioning and general maintenance is a bit overwhelming for me.
so as a remedy, i recently started wearing my hair like this:

it felt a little goofy at first, but it has made my hair-life so much easier. two bands and a few pins and i'm set for the day. no more ratty buns! also, on friday i got the comment "you look so...beautiful!" so i think that i'm going to stick with it. milkmaid summer!

Wednesday

hair.

this is what my hair looks like now:

and this agyness deyn cut and color is what i'm dreeeaaaaming of.

i've been trying to grow my hair out to do locks of love and you need 10 inches of hair so i've got quite a bit to go until i'm able to transform into a white haired elf.
