i'm mostly too poor to own most 'labels' and whatnot, plus i'm vegetarian and never buy new leather-goods, but there is definitely a soft spot in my heart for etienne aigner handbags and boots from the 1970's. so i must admit that when i came across this lot on ebay, my heart sure did skip a beat!

marcel dzama.

in 2001, while doing research for a school paper, i came across the work of marcel dzama and became instantly obsessed {then i discovered just how darn cute he was and became even more obsessed.} since then i've started collecting many things marcel; magazine clippings, the sad ghost salt and pepper shakers {i have salt, alex has pepper in a neo 'b.f.f. necklace' style trade}, a first edition of the berlin years, an original drawing {a prized possession and the first piece of art i paid over 50$ for}, and once i, more or less, flew to london just for one of his openings. yeah, i'm a weirdo. but now i'm a weirdo who is selling some marcel dzama memorabilia on ebay. so please check it out, tell your friends and make some bids! thanks.

paper cuts.

a while ago i was tooling around on ebay and i came across this seller listing a whole bunch of ‘hand made paper cuts’ and they were really cheap and the designs were really neat so i figured i’d risk the $10 {!!!} and get one. well, after sort of forgetting about it {shipping from china takes a while!} i got it yesterday and it’s really really great! i thought that since they have many of the same design it wouldn’t be hand done, but it definitely is not done by a machine. the pictures that they have in the listing are really small, which stinks. here is my crappy scan, which also stinks.

it’s about 11″X14″ and the detail in the trees are wonderful! it sort of makes me feel weird that it was so cheap and someone is doing all of that work, but i guess maybe they are just selling themselves short. ??? i don’t know, but i’m glad that i took the chance!
